Chocolate is king in our house. It trumps any other food on the planet and is sometimes- and I’m ashamed to say this- used as a method of bribery. So, using chocolate as a disguise to extremely healthy ingredients was my plan for this week. Avocados have endless nutrients and I like to consider them food chameleons because they seamlessly blend in whatever food type you’re craving- savory or even sweet. Bananas are also packed with essential vitamins, so the combination seemed perfect!
Your ingredients are simple. If you do not have coconut or milk on hand, coconut cream will work, or normal milk is just fine. The amount of liquid you add will thin it out or thicken it up.
After tasting the mixture, I added vanilla and honey to reach my desired taste, so feel free to play around with quantities.
This is really one of the easiest recipes you'll ever make! Your your kid will love it, and probably you will too!
Prep time: 10 minutes
1 ripe avocado
1 ripe banana (or 2 depending on your taste)
¼ cup unsweetened cacao powder
1/3 cup natural honey
1 tablespoon vanilla
¼ cup coconut or almond milk
Step 1: Peel and roughly cut the bananas and avocado and add the remainder of the ingredients in a blender until a smooth consistency is reached.
Step 2: Place in an air tight container and in the fridge to maintain its consistency.
That's really it! If you try it, let us know in the comments below :)
