On this day, I'd love to share with you these few recycled mantras that I’ve been living by for quite some time now and first put into written words a year ago.
Experience things fully. Look for happiness and let it in, but also, look for meaning, for growth, for the right questions. Allow each experience to change you and to give you all it can. Meaning can even be found in sad or negative experiences. Look beyond the surface and delve deep to understand how you can reap benefits from any experience. “In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang, or yin-yang, describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.” - Wikipedia
The perfect time and the perfect moment aren’t looking for you. You need to make the time and put in the effort and pick a moment to make it perfect. Unless you work hard to gain what you're striving for and make things happen for yourself, you’ll just watch life go by waiting for things to happen to you. And things will happen, perhaps just not the things you actually want.
We sit back and let life happen to us. We wait for the weekend to relax. We wait for the summer to have fun. We wait for the beginning of the week, the month, the year to start something new or to make new commitments. Stop waiting for things to happen. Get up and do more of what makes you happy. Be more active, more innovative, more open, accepting, loving. Take actions, whatever they are, so long as they make you happy. Stop thinking about what others are doing or what others think and do your own thing. Own your life and live it well. Get up and fill your life with as many experiences as you can.
